Most entrepreneurs on PieShell are raising money for a variety of purposes. Breaking those large goal amounts down into smaller numbers gives project owners the ability to set several smaller, more obtainable goals on their way to funding the complete project.
PieShell has an "all or nothing" model, which means in order to receive funding, each project owner must hit their first stepping-stone goal. If they do, they will receive those funds plus any funds raised past that goal - even if they don’t hit future stepping-stones. However, if a project owner does not hit their first stepping-stone goal by their project end date, all pledges will be canceled and no fees are charged.
